Albany State University: Online Writing Center

Albany State University (ASU) offers a tool for students to get writing assistance called the ASU Online Writing Center (OWC). Online tuition, writing workshops, and writing tools are just a few of the offerings offered by the center. Students can submit their writing for review and criticism at any time using the online tutoring service (Albany State University, n.d.). In addition to organization and development, tutors offer criticism on grammar, punctuation, and mechanics. Turnitin, which an anti-plagiarism program, is also provided by the OWC. This software will screen each paper to weed out any instances of plagiarism.

Level I and Level II support are also provided at the ASU Online Writing Center. Level I support is generic and non-evaluative; it provides comments on mechanics, punctuation, and grammar. Level II assistance is more in-depth and involves content, development, and structure assessments. Additionally, input on citation and documentation style may be part of level II support (Wilm, 2018). The OWC also provides online writing lessons that cover a range of writing-related subjects, including grammar, citation styles, and academic writing. All ASU students are welcome to attend the workshops, which qualified writing instructors guide. Students can also access various writing resources online through the OWC. These tools consist of writing manuals, citation manuals, and example papers. These tools are intended to assist students in honing their writing abilities and gaining more self-assurance as writers.

Students can use various resources for writing assistance in addition to the tools on the OWC. Editors or plans are examples of tools students can use to examine a thesis project. Grammarly, Hemingway, and ProWritingAid are a few of the well-liked choices. Additionally, it is possible to review each thesis individually, which is an excellent way to make sure the work is polished before submission (Semeniuk, 2018). As an alternative, a friend or coworker can assist with reviewing a thesis project and offering comments on the writing. They can also draw attention to any logical flaws or possible oversights in the arguments.
