Creative Leadership Through Technology and Art in Education: Insights from Maeda’s TED Talk

Emergence of Creative Leaders Through Change

Creative leaders emerge when conditions around them change, forcing them to transform reality to achieve their desired goals. I agree that technology and art go together because they can complement each other and promote development (TED, 2012). Also, fear can greatly hinder our desire to become unique leaders who can develop our art. I liked John Maeda’s idea that freedom is an even stronger word, the awareness of which helps to move forward. However, the video proves that combining leadership, technology, and art is essential to succeed in the chosen endeavor.

Integrating Technology and Art for Leadership Success

Regarding John Maeda’s position, there is another point to be made. First, it is necessary to believe that technology is not harmful. Second, technology should be considered people’s helpers, even if we do not understand it at first. The ability to understand technology and reason about how to use it in the creation of art is a significant advantage of strong creative leaders (TED, 2012). I want to develop such leadership and integrate technology to achieve mastery in management.

Technology as a Tool for Learning and Development

Technology is now widespread and used by students. Software has evolved and has flooded schools to provide technological instruction to children. Using Word and Excel to teach simple visualization skills is one of the valuable skills we spend time on in the computer lab. Thus, students spend more than 50% of their total education time on technology in the classroom. In addition, virtual experiments, online presentations, and videos that reinforce skills are also part of the learning process.

Enhancing Education and Leadership Skills Through Digital Tools

Individual software packages are needed to create a system as part of their instructional environment. Students should be able to expand their knowledge by any possible means, focusing on their weaknesses and strengths. Learning the principles of assessment and monitoring results using information technology will be helpful for future leaders. For example, virtual field trips can be used as a way to improve their environment and gain access to diversity. Some classes have already benefited from the offered idea, and it is high time we implement similar steps within our classroom.
