Dr. Terry Eason is a history teacher for middle school students in the Crandall Middle School located in the Crandall Independent School District of Texas. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1981 at Henderson State University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Continuing his education, he graduated from Texas A&M University, Commerce, Texas, in 1992 with a Master of Education in Educational Administration. Finally, in 2007, he earned the degree of a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University located in North Miami Beach, Florida. In addition, he received Region 10 Principal certification in 2000 from the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals committed to innovations, agility, and student success (TASSP, n.d.). Collaboration with this organization is associated with professionalism and excellence.
For Dr. Eason, being named the Crandall Middle School Teacher of the Year is one of his greatest achievements, along with working in Terrell Middle School, which was included in the Best Public Schools in Texas in 2001, and serving on the Board of Trustees for Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas, in 2021 and as a Mentor Teacher for the National Institute of Excellence Teaching. Working in the Crandall Middle School is a source of pride for him as the school is among the most outstanding national and state schools. Dr. Eason applies Project Based Learning (PBL) as his main framework of teaching for students to acquire knowledge and skills essential for answering pivotal questions related to modern and actual problems and needs.
