Inclusive Innovation: Analysis of Assumptions and Evidence

Purpose and Influence of the Reading

Social innovation and social finance are designed to equip people with efficient and effective techniques for addressing challenges and problems. The sole purpose of the text “Inclusive Innovation: New Ideas and New Partnerships for Stronger Communities” in the Journal of Employment and Social Development Canada is to raise awareness about the new ideas and partnerships essential for strengthening nations and communities.

The text can influence many people because it presents a logical argument. All the evidence used is relevant to what exists and our daily challenges. According to the text, inclusive innovation refers to the development of new products and services that support the less privileged, such as individuals with disabilities, the poor, single parents, and ethnic minorities (Innovation, S., & Social Finance Strategy Co-Creation Steering Group, 2018, p. 45).

Assumptions About Inclusive Innovation

Creative and transformative solutions are fundamental because they invent better outcomes worldwide. Consequently, they enable the possible delivery of a better social and environmental outcome for the Canadian people. New strategies and ideas primarily influence this.

Investments in businesses and technological innovation are positive things. This is because they help address the socioeconomic challenges we face in our daily lives. On the other hand, inconsistency in the social innovation strategies and policies is a negative thing.

These assumptions are reasonable because they often occur in real life, and various pieces of evidence can be cited to support them. For instance, multiple strategies employed by different organizations have significantly influenced Canadians to develop new products. Learning from a text is a process entangled with one’s beliefs and personal knowledge.

Personal Knowledge on Topic

My personal knowledge, as well as my experience, has positively affected the text. This is because most of the information in this text makes sense, as many organizations enforce it. Some of the challenges that Indigenous social innovations face include customers constantly changing their demand for goods and products. If organizations develop new products or services, customers might have evolved and no longer need them. Some of the questions that arose while writing this assignment were how social innovation in Canada differs from other existing networks.
