Inequality in Education and Its Effects

Social inequality is a significant problem affecting many segments of the population. Opportunities can be limitless if the environment provides at least a minimal chance to realize them. Under conditions of inequality, a person cannot even try to develop because he or she is held back by the need to solve financial problems. Social inequality goes hand in hand with financial dependence, and one must not forget those for whom social goods are inaccessible. Financial problems are the direct consequence of unmet social needs, and it should be their satisfaction that provides the basis on which other benefits can be built. It will probably take long before social equality is achieved but striving for it already solves part of the problem.

I believe that the problem of social inequality continues to be relevant. It seems to me that the state’s solutions are insufficient, and society has to deal with it. For me, the problem of inequality is best illustrated in children’s groups, where children are unknowingly divided into income and equality categories. Groups lead to prejudices and stereotypes, reinforcing social inequality and creating a barrier to development. As a result, children whom peers attack at an early age have childhood traumas (Ă–sterman, 2017). The relationship between the students and the teacher may not work out. It is imperative to consider that even though the teacher is supposed to be impartial, this is often not the case (Ă–sterman, 2017). Some teachers reinforce social inequality by separating children from the group and making their situation worse. It is essential to pay attention to such details as the teacher’s attitude not toward one child but the whole class.
