In general, this course was not difficult for me, but I gained much new knowledge from it. The topic and tasks that I enjoyed and learned the most were related to deviances. First, I found some unknown causes of deviant behavior and ways to influence it for myself and confirmed some of my assumptions. However, I had some difficulties with assignments on this topic, since it was not intuitive for me, and I had to learn and read many sources. However, I find this experience beneficial for me.
Moreover, most of the topics we have studied relate to different areas of human life. For example, a significant part of the questions was related to people’s interaction in society and their influence on each other. These aspects are partially related to psychology and have contributed to my understanding of approaches to communication. For instance, I can apply the concepts of leadership and their types to promote my development at work, since studying this social influence aspect will help me become an effective manager. At the same time, understanding the concept of primary socialization will help me correctly assess my behavior with my children in the future, since I will conclude my impact by observing their development.
I can also put into practice my theoretical knowledge and ideas about an ideal society. Firstly, I can influence some aspects of my community with my efforts; for example, I can participate in charitable projects, their organization and promote democracy and equality among people. I will also pass on my ideas to my children so that they also participate in creating the ideal community. However, since I am limited in funds, I can contact the local government representatives to implement some initiatives in the short term. Thus, this course helped me form a clearer understanding of social interactions and find options to influence them.
