Standardized Testing in Schools

Students, like all individuals, are unique and need personalized instruction. This individual process is influenced by a variety of variables, such as past knowledge, skill, and drive. It is also dynamic and changes during a person’s lifespan. However, it is practically hard to adjust each course to the requirements of individual pupils, resulting in the rigidity of the educational system. Simultaneously, several study findings on standardized learning argue against the practices owing to the inherent limits and poor performance consequences. For instance, Salinas and Guajardo’s (2022) study advocates for substantial changes and the abolition of standardized testing techniques. They realize that such steps may result in a poor impression, yet they remain emphatic about the need.

According to the report, the challenges instructors confront in the classroom are estimated by those with little or no expertise in education. Initially, the purpose of standardized testing was to give instructors with a standard to follow (Salinas and Guajardo, 2022). These rules were for classroom sessions that detailed content deemed important to student achievement. In its present structure, the exam is too invasive, since it now provides instructors with specific information and essential procedures (Salinas and Guajardo, 2022). Consequently, negative aspects of the system continue to use this sort of testing while understanding their role as the primary source of difficulty for pupils that do not give any form of educational assistance (Salinas and Guajardo, 2022). In the existing societal structure, these examinations encourage an oppressive kind of control that serves only the government and its political members.

In conclusion, the concerns raised by this question are pressing but difficult to addressed due to various political barriers, insufficiency of funding and limited number of teachers available to organize, promote, and develop new approach towards education. Consequently, the students are left with the environment that only impedes their learning. The research in the area continues to develop new approaches towards schooling by including adaptive teaching methods, online forms of education and project-based learning that demonstrate significant levels of improvement in academic performance.
