An effective presentation should convey the intended message to the audience. It should tell a story and teach or inspire the audience, which can principally be realized by spending adequate time to prepare and deliver the content with passion. Many presentations are performed every day, but not all succeed in winning, which makes it critical to understand how to design the presentation. This will make it easy to drive the main points that must resonate with the desired audience (Dilts, 2017). In recent times, there has been an upward trend in the use of video presentations. Even though the audience may be physically dispersed in different locations, the message has to suit their appetite.
Nonetheless, mistakes are bound to occur given that there is no presentation that will be perfect in all ways. So, perfection should be avoided as this will reduce the pressure to achieve. The best approach is to improve continually by observing other presentations and sharpening individual delivery skills. Another mistake is the failure to define the goal of every presentation. Dilts (2017) states that even if an individual has made many successful presentations in the past, there is the tendency to allocate no or less time to prepare for other presentations. However, the presentation possibly will fail and destroy the reputation since some important details may be left out. Presentations can be enhanced by using the sufficient time to prepare and use descriptions in the form of tables, charts, and brand images.
