Many breakthroughs were identified during my studies, which helped me develop new skills and support a high level of knowledge in academic writing. For example, in Mod 1, I have understood how to find out the controversial topic in literature and how to summarize all facts to find the truth. Moreover, this class helped me to analyze short stories and apply the APA format of citations to my writings. The ability to cite writing correctly can allow me to receive higher results at the university and improve my academic skills for my future job to get a promotion quicker.
The second Mod allowed me to concentrate more on academic writing style, language, and format. Formal writing and changing over time, causing the use of slang to become more popular in similar works (Hyland & Jiang, 2017). Interestingly, the work’s tone can change how the characters are represented. The use of modern language makes readers more fascinated and interested in the stories. By understanding the use of specific attributes, I will be able to write high-quality papers using the academic style and use this skill while writing personal emails or letters.
It is important to provide correct facts in writing, and Mod 5 explains what should be done to ensure that readers are not confused. For instance, reliable sources should be used to make the work more professional and academic. All sources should be cited appropriately, and the style should stay the same throughout the text. When analyzing ‘Things Fall Apart’ during the Mod, I realized that cultural context is presented clearly by explaining different sides to ensure that readers do not stand against the writing. Consequently, when writing at the workplace, I will look for reliable information and show customers a high level of proficiency.
