Standardized Tests System in Education

The most important components of intelligence are creativity, analytical and practical skills. The practical skills encompassed have been useful in adapting to different contexts at different stages of life. In addition, practicability has allowed successful functioning in environments such as school. The creative aspect entails developing new ideas and dealing with issues. For instance, creativity facilitated successful transitions throughout art classes. On the other hand, the analytical aspect involves the evaluation of information and problem-solving in school and at home. Creative thinking has led to the development of innovative ideas in school. In addition, the use of logical reasoning helps in the evaluation of arguments and schoolwork (Beltran, 2016). Empathy and the ability to work in teams and organizations are indicators of intelligence. Besides, eloquent verbal communication indicates intelligence. Interpersonal intelligence enables individuals to relate and socialize with others easily Moreover, adaptability and resilience form part of the practical skills that are linked with intelligence. Leadership traits are also associated with intelligence.

The initial reaction to the video is that standardized test system is inefficient. The video presents a hilarious touch on the e issue of failure in standardized testing techniques. Bob Sternberg relays a personal experience indicating the flaws in standardized testing. In addition, Bob calls out the method as outdated and inefficient, especially in a diverse world that keeps on evolving. Standardized testing is an ineffective way of ranking students. The mentioned technique takes up the assumption that students are homogenous, which is, in fact, impractical. Besides, the world has spiraled into a global village based on diversity (Kyllonen & Kell, 2018). Consequently, the skills needed by students to survive in the current world are different from those used in the past. Students thrive on creativity as opposed to memory that is emphasized in the standardized tests. Testing methods should appreciate the holistic nature of individual capability in students. Standardized tests also fail because the techniques are already outdated. The mentioned reasons are in support of the argument as to why standardized testing fails.

The initiative to eliminate IQ tests and adopt alternative methods has faced backlash from individuals who are resistant to change. Moreover, it is unprofitable for learning institutions to eliminate the tests since they form a vital part of financing (Beltran, 2016). In addition, institutions have adopted reward generating systems that prevent individuals from adopting alternatives. Reward-generatingdardized tests have been in place over the years. Most decision-makers in institutions are alumni of the programs and thrive on the fundamental principle of attracting like-minded individuals. Consequently, the systems have remained in place over the years.

Different forms of intelligence and incorporated methods of measure will be learnt in this topic. In addition, the comparison between various kinds of testlearned relay the existing differences in the various methods. The difference between memory motivated tests and creativity motivated tests will indicate the importance of appreciating individual capabilities in students. The practical skills associated with intelligence in a different culture will also belearnedt. Moreover, analytical, creative,e and practical skills learnt in the topic will create a platform where students could borrow ideas for the common good.
