Teaching Practices: Impact on Students

Introduction

Generally, to influence learning outcomes in schools, teachers must be at the forefront to embrace effective practices centered on the development of students and the community. Societies perceive educators as role models to their young ones, which implies that expressions from professionals are essential in making the learners become better persons in the future. In addition, with their adequate knowledge and information about common issues in the community, their engagement with authorities enables parents and needy students to access necessary resources to promote learning activities. Therefore, engaging best practices such as providing appropriate leadership, integrating technology, connecting parents to available resources, and building engaging curriculum are vital in promoting general academic success in learning institutions.

Discussion

Leadership is an essential tool that has the potential to influence the engagement of students, teachers, and the community in learning activities. Educators must be able to practice good management, such as addressing learnersā€™ concerns in classrooms, involving parents in school affairs intended to improve the performance of students, and acting as role models to the learners. Having an appropriate headship style further makes it easier for the teachers to build an effective relationship with the students. When the connection between the learners and their educators is strong, students will have the ability and courage to share freely issues that might be affecting their learning experience both in class and at home. In such cases, educators will be able to solve and manage the challenges to facilitate the engagement of the affected learner in learning activities, thus improving their participation. Moreover, most students need proper guidance, especially during their adolescent period; when educators create an interactive atmosphere between them and the learners, they can easily guide them through the stage effectively.

In the current society, the wave of digital transformation has gained momentum, and the young generation is attracted to emerging technologies. It is important for teachers to integrate technology into their teaching practices (Sousa & Rocha, 2019). The approach is effective in making the learning to be familiar with their surroundings and have adequate knowledge of how to utilize them. By incorporating the use of laptops and other devices, educators will have the ability to develop proper and interactive educational activities that benefit the students (Amhag et al., 2019). In addition, the exposure will enable the learners to use the time they spend online accordingly and enhance their academic progress. The practice will promote the skills needed by the learners in the current society.

In most cases, families are not aware of the available resources in the community that can be accessed to facilitate the education program of their children. The aspect is common among the parents who are less exposed or the ones with legal restrictions. When the guardian is unable to obtain the necessary support from the relevant authorities, their effort to promote learning activities decline to make the student drop out of school. It is essential for teachers to access and inform the community of existing resources such as government funding, non-governmental projects, and scholarship programs that can be used to facilitate and cater to educational needs. By involving in such practices, educators will enable struggling families to educate their young ones with ease, thus improving their educational outcomes (Daniel et al., 2019). Therefore, professionals should stay informed about the current opportunities, such as sponsorships that can be utilized by needy parents to enhance their ability to educate children. They can obtain the details by working closely with their colleagues to enable them to share and acquire the details.

Generally, teaching practices are founded based on ethical conduct. Teachers should embrace professional standards to enable them to engage and manage the needs of the learners and institutions effectively. By adhering to the core basic values, namely fairness, dignity, truthfulness, responsibility, and freedom, educators will be able to handle situations they might face within the schools accordingly and produce an outstanding outcome. Furthermore, practicing morals will ensure the professionals respect and uphold the students’ rights, thus making the learners experience better and improved teaching services. In addition, maintaining the standard of practice is useful in ensuring educators assess and instruct the learners in the classroom. Therefore, when teachers uphold the expectations of moral conduct and relevant policies, they create an interactive environment that supports and nurture the learners effectively.

In order to improve the participation and engagement of learners in educational practices, teachers must ensure there is a strong environment learning environment that supports the involvement. For instance, when an educator allows students to teach themselves while observing, learners gain more understanding of the concepts which is essential for academic performance. The approach further builds confidence among the students and makes them believe in their potential. To achieve the outcome, the professional may opt to assign given work to a group or specific student to present to the class. For the students to share their content with their colleagues, they will be forced to work extra time to gain the necessary insight on the topic thus advancing their overall understanding.

The development of students requires teachers to establish an engaging curriculum that provides the learners with adequate opportunities to improve their skills. For instance, young children can be taught how to make alphabetical letters using boxes and other relevant materials. The approach targets their literacy skills which are essential to them (Shaw, 2019). Similarly, allowing students to learn science topics in places such as greenhouse and conduct necessary practical experiments outside the classrooms. By engaging in such activities, students gain more knowledge and afterward are able to perform the activities later in life. The involvement provides learners with an appropriate educational experience that enhances their skills.

Conclusion

In general, engaging in best teaching practices is a recipe for better academic performance. When teachers and students have a strong relationship, it becomes easier for both parties to share and address possible challenges that are more likely to hinder educational activities. Educators need to enquire about the needs of parents and children that can lower the concentration of learners in the classroom. Upon understanding the demands, teachers should educate, and inform the guardians about the available community resources that can be used to sponsor educational programs. The practice will enhance the ability of unable parents to educate their children accordingly. Furthermore, being regarded as role models to the learners, education should maintain the standard professional conduct to show the young ones the value of education. Based on the arguments above, it is clear that effective teaching practices are essential in promoting learning outcomes. Therefore, educators should focus on engaging parents and children in educational activities to ensure they create a positive environment that supports effective learning.
