The final area in the essay is a conclusion that pieces together the various ideas presented throughout the paper.

Student Career and Educational Goals

My educational goal is to attain a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree and later a Master of Business Administration degree at Mount Saint Mary’s University. I intend to finish the Liberal Arts degree within the next four years and enroll for my Master’s soon after. As a full-time student, I am likely to finish the course within the stipulated time as compared to a scenario where I opted to pursue the course as a part-time student. I intend to attain my degree with first-class honors and this will grant me priority to pursue my Master’s for the following two years (Mount St. Mary’s University). I will dedicate many hours of my day to pursuing the course to attain success in the degree before enrolling for the master’s.

After my Master’s, my career plan is to either write grant proposals to financially support community programs or open non-profit organizations for legal advocacy and mental health support in marginalized communities. Both options are anchored in offering marginalized societies and groups in society the needed support. My career goals are geared towards community service which betters the welfare of people by providing legal advocacy and mental health improvement. The goal of becoming a professional is attainable after a total of four years, divided into two for the bachelor’s degree and two for the Master’s degree. In my career, I will identify the marginalized communities within society and assess their projects. I will identify the ones in need of better financial support and write grants for them.

Relevance of Goals/Skills from Liberal Arts Major

The Liberal Arts Major will arm me with skills such as speaking and writing which will be crucial in my career. I will effectively communicate with members of society and write sound grant proposals for funding. The communication skills will be vital in enabling me to open non-profit organizations by ensuring I can acquire donors. The course will also arm me with critical thinking skills which will guarantee I can assess situations objectively. I will identify priorities for the communities I intend to write grant proposals for in the field. Liberal Arts also teach students analytical skills which enable them to become quick and effective in decision-making (Hill and Pisacreta). The swiftness in thought will enable me to serve people promptly hence saving lives and bettering health. The interactions within the classes facilitated by the Liberal Arts Major will enable me to understand cultural differences among different groups. An appreciation for the diversity in the world will enable me to serve people according to their requirements.

Concepts in Liberal Arts Education

Liberal Arts teach students core topics such as history, sociology, and psychology. Sociology emphasizes society and how people coexist within social settings. It fosters an understanding of the fabric of society and will enable me to assess the marginalized communities I intend to help with mental health services and legal advocacy. Knowledge of psychology is critical as it ensures a better understanding of the thought process of people (Telling). This information will enable me to understand the expectations the marginalized communities have and the actions they anticipate me to take. History will enable me to conduct studies of marginalized communities and identify reasons for their position in society. I will write grant proposals for these needy groups based on the most oppressed state of their lives, ensuring progress is attained.

Examples of Connection between Career Goals and Liberal Arts Degree

Liberal Arts emphasizes the need for a graduate to acquire ample financial literacy before graduation through education on the management of funds. This education is a crucial requirement when writing financial grants for marginalized communities. The grants must be presented in the necessary format for acceptability and follow due process. The necessary procedure involves ensuring the grant is presented at the appropriate offices. Financial literacy will also be vital in enabling me to create non-profit organizations as they require donors for success.

Liberal Arts also reinforce advertising and marketing concepts in students and these will be vital in promoting my career objectives. Knowledge of advertising strategies means I will effectively lobby for the support of financiers. The finances will be critical for the running of the non-profit organizations and the eventual success of providing legal advocacy and mental health improvement services. My marketing skills will ensure my presentation of the needs of the marginalized communities I present is flawless and convincing.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I intend to complete my degree in Liberal Arts before pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration. The career aim is to write grant proposals for community projects or create non-profit organizations for legal advocacy and mental health assistance for marginalized communities. Before graduation, I will have acquired essential communication skills, writing skills, critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and social skills. Concepts fostered in the course including history, psychology, and sociology will be invaluable in the field and will enable me to become effective. Fiscal skills will be essential in the writing of the financial grants while marketing skills will be crucial in the sourcing of donors.
