The challenge of writing college-level assignments can be efficiently addressed by the selection of proper strategies. For me, the best approach is to carefully prepare for performing this task, gather sufficient information on the subject, and organize the facts, which are used for this purpose. In general, this stage of the process includes asking questions regarding the intentions and motivation, which is followed by brainstorming and the subsequent coordination of different ideas (“Writing tips for students,” 2021). Paying particular attention to this aspect brings clarity to the expected outcomes of essays. When writing after preparation, only the essential thoughts are included.
This strategy is universal for papers and discussion board posts, even though these assignments have varying requirements. The former is aimed at conducting research on a topic and presenting one’s well-informed standpoints, whereas the latter is a reflection on the studied materials. Moreover, the first type of writing is more structured and useful for promoting individual knowledge, whereas the second type helps enhance the understanding of subjects through discussing them collectively.
The writing process of these assignments will also significantly differ. In the case of papers, one needs to gather data, synthesize numerous sources, and carefully analyze them while following the organizational patterns of these tasks. In turn, discussion boards posts do not imply the necessity to include introductions and conclusions since the essence of the examined materials is emphasized. They require reviewing topics and reflecting on them in a free form. In addition, the initial discussion post and a response to classmates should be distinguished. The former contains personal ideas, whereas the latter is intended to contributing to the exchange of opinions and thereby increasing everyone’s awareness of the topics under consideration.
