Overview
The demonstration of animals to learners improves their perception and understanding of elementary science. Thus, it allows students to gain theoretical information and explore learning through their sense of touch. In this way, the teacher could illustrate the difference between animals to the children. At the end of the lesson, the kids were capable of naming the traits of snakes and were interested in learning about their way of life. Accordingly, using this method, the teacher was in a position to achieve the course outcomes. The leader demonstrated to the children the connections in nature that corresponded to the ELA. For example, during the snake study, teachers were able to get children interested in learning about the structure of a butterfly. Moreover, Mathematics CCSS was also integrated into the science lessons. Thus, lessons were based on a plan, which allowed the students to understand what skills and knowledge they had to extract. For instance, the kids were first informed about the shape of a snake and the task of drawing it. They then tried to use their existing knowledge to complete the challenge.
Application
In my pedagogical activity, I would like to implement practical concepts. This is because natural sciences are challenging to explain to children without demonstrating natural processes and phenomena. Experiments, excursions, and communication with specialists will enhance the attention and concentration of students. In order to meet the needs of students in Hawaii, it is essential to change the curriculum and start learning elementary science from the animals and plants surrounding kids. This would allow the children to observe them even outside of school lessons. The creation of a story about animals based on scientific facts about the birth and functioning of the creatures helps to remember the information and corresponds to the principles of natural science. In this way, learners can visualize their knowledge and share their experiences.
