Interdisciplinary is a method that uses the traditional concepts of education thus enabling the learner to arrive at a new problem solution. It is an important concept that is within academic and private research. Interdisciplinary enables both exact and quick approaches to subjects of great nuance and complexity (Klaassen, 2018). According to Klaassen (2018), interdisciplinary operates by incorporating techniques traditionally thought of as separate fields such as biology, business, and history. Therefore, an interdisciplinary learner engages in a level of inquiry that is different from other degree paths.
Interdisciplinary studying enables a learner to acquire knowledge through creation of links between concepts and ideas across various disciplinary boundaries. This technique helps students to use the knowledge acquired from one subject to a different one as a method of strengthening the process of studying (Klaassen, 2018). The most important idea about interdisciplinary learning is that it enables learners to create their pathways by selecting the most important subject for the student (Klaassen, 2018). For instance, it is not difficult to find a theme crossing over boundary of discipline in history, art, literature, mathematics, and science (Klaassen, 2018). Klaassen (2018) argues that learning thematically is one technique of bringing ideas together in a meaningful way by creating an opportunity for learners to select their different subjects. As a result, student’s process of studying becomes strong through the reflection of what they have studied in various subjects.
One obstacle in attaining correct interdisciplinary learning in an academic environment is the instructor relationship. This might seem challenging to attain, but it is not unattainable (Power & Handley, 2019). Interdisciplinary education is maximized when experts teaching various subjects work collectively and assist the learner in making relations between various courses or subjects (Power & Handley, 2019). Such interactions are in uphold the constructivist paradigm that allows for new understanding (Power & Handley, 2019). It also enables acquiring a deeper knowledge of ideas and disciplinary learning.
How Interdisciplinary Studies has Impacted my World View
The worldview concept comes before the introduction of the thought of disciplinarity and disciplinary perceptions. According to Landrum (2018), interdisciplinary impacts worldview in that every process begins with creating a strong sense of community in our multicultural classrooms, where the background of learners and their academic interests differ broadly. Learners must understand and reflect upon their worldviews of those beyond their communities before expecting them to understand that education disciplines comprise scholars in the community with different worldviews, perceptions, and insights.
Understanding interdisciplinary learning has helped me make a connection between different concepts. The knowledge has encouraged me because now I have built up my desire to learn various topics that interest me (Landrum, 2018). Therefore, the information is normally anchored in experiences of life, proving an authentic reason for studying and linking to the context of the real world (Landrum, 2018). As a result, learning becomes significant, focused, and deeper equipping the learners with lifetime educational experiences.
Additionally, I can cover different topics deeper since the learning process considers various perspectives used to evaluate a topic. Acquiring critical thinking skills through interdisciplinary is essential in learner’s development because it considers issues across different boundaries in different viewpoints (Landrum, 2018). They also start comparing and contrasting notions across subject areas (Landrum, 2018). Interdisciplinary studies have impacted my worldview in that I can consolidate the process of learning by synthesizing thoughts from many viewpoints and considering a different method of gaining knowledge.
Understanding interdisciplinary studies have also impacted my world view because it has helped me learn how to explore various topics in different subject. This has motivated me to pursue a new understanding of diverse areas of any subject. In addition, I can transfer critical thinking skills, synthesis, and research that are developed and applied for future learning experiences. Therefore, interdisciplinary studies have enabled me to understand how to use them in different disciplines resulting in greater creativity.

The most helpful knowledge gained from understanding interdisciplinary study is that students have a higher probability of developing different skills. These comprise efficient thinking, speaking, writing, reading, and cognitive skills (Landrum, 2018). Landrum (2018) argues that there is also the ability to combine traditional ideas with current ones. The importance of finding integrative and creative ways is to combine disciplines that outweigh the disadvantage of interdisciplinary.
Interdisciplinary learning provides a smooth synthesis of ideas and character from different disciplines. In addition, it deals with the individual variations of students and enables the development of vital, transferable skills (Landrum, 2018). Such skills comprise analysis, communications, and critical thinking. They also keep on developing constantly at all stages of a person’s life. Systems of education are providing learners with the best knowledge if they allow students to build their interdisciplinary techniques (Landrum, 2018). Through this approach, it is easier to encourage the desire to study, spark enthusiasm, and address the difference in learning among the students.
