The Racial Knowledge Disparity in the U.S.

The achievement gaps related to ethnicity and socioeconomic status of students are rather a common situation in the U.S. Naturally, the disparity between academic performance is provoked by numerous factors strongly associated with the student’s race and income. However, while the socioeconomic achievement gap tends to occur due to the inability of an individual to access required material to expand their knowledge, the other disparity usually happens due to racism. That is why it seems that ethnic minority groups are not provided with the proper learning experience, posing a need for policymakers in the U.S. to tackle the issue of the achievement gap.

To begin with, the racial achievement gap implies the considerable disparity between the academic performance of different ethnic groups within an educational establishment. Undoubtedly, the reason for this is the racism that some teachers support, leading to the students’ inability to acquire the knowledge required in the curriculum. Additionally, racism may be evident in the classroom not only from the tutors but from other students who may bully an individual or complicate one’s learning experience. Hence, the problem of disparity requires a solution from the policymakers, which can be presented in the form of separate classrooms for students of different ethnicities.

To sum up, it is vital to eradicate the racial knowledge disparity in the U.S. by providing the students with an equivalent learning experience within the classrooms. In other words, the youth should not experience any difficulties in forming a healthy relationship with the tutors to strive in their further exams. In addition, ethnic minority students should be treated with respect by their classmates, which can be achieved by forming classes that include only one racial group.
