The website Reading Rockets can provide the teacher and the family with new information about reading techniques, useful applications, podcasts, and educational games for children. The website is easy to navigate although it is rather adult than child-centered. It is a multimedia project that does not only teach the user specific techniques that can help by reading but also provides reading topics and interviews with authors about the reading and challenges that the young readers, as well as their parents and/or mentors, might face. I would recommend this site to other teachers because the website has a separate page where it presents a list of teacher-oriented videos and articles that can be used in the working process. Students can also choose the topics and videos they find interesting to learn. Author interviews and author blog entry’s can be used as examples in behavior management system, presented as an authority.
The next website is Edutopia. It provides different educational materials that can be helpful both for teachers and for parents. It is easy to navigate, both for children and for adults, it does not have advertisements, the information is presented in text and video formats. I would use this site to read about new teaching techniques and recommend this site to other teachers who could also teach their students through the presented videos. The tips presented on the website can be used as a support in my classroom behavior management system.
